Talking Huge mission completed this morning

My own crazy mission. I needed to clear stuff out of the attic to make room for some stuff that's in the basement. I need to give up my sewing/craft room and will be in the basement soon instead. So....this morning, before I even went downstairs, I went to the attic and pulled down 8 22 gallon Rubbermaid totes and 4 large cardboard boxes full of toys.

I had been rotating the toys that the kids have, but there were toys up there that they just never play with and didn't miss. I took all the toys down and put them in my bedroom (attic drop down stairs are in our bedroom closet). The kids came upstairs and helped me decide what to keep. It was almost like Christmas with all the toys in that room. I let them keep some, but the rule was that they had to fit in the 2 toy boxes we already have. Anything that didn't fit, had to be given away.

We filled 5 55 gallon trash bags full of toys to give to the Salvation Army This is in addition to the 2 we already have waiting to go there in the play room.

Also being donated: 1 bassinet, baby tub, exersaucer, high chair, and a few other big baby toys.

I can’t wait to get this stuff out of my house

Wow, Michelle! Doesn't it feel so great? And the girls should be proud that some other kids will get joy out of their toys!

I sat down with them and explained the importance of charity and making other people happy by donating things that we don't want or need. I could tell that it really hit home when I asked how they'd feel if they didn't have any toys or at least a lot less than they do.

I also bagged up 3 bags full of spring/summer clothes that no longer fit them any more. I am thrilled to donate all this stuff

Great going Michelle. It does feel good to get rid of the stuff that we don't really need anymore, doesn't it? I'm sure the girls learned a lot from you.
