How do you remove urine?
Hi,
I bought a set of sheets at the local thrift shop. They match the new bedroom. They were all wrapped up and I know I should have opened the package...(I'll never make that mistake again...) But, I can't get the smell of urine out of them, did I just waste $4.00? I've tried bleach and borax and detergent, with no luck. I don't have a hot water washer. Should I boil them? I hate the thought of smelling up my little trailer, boiling them on the stove...

I dont know but amonia is a good thing to use on cat urine, You can rinse them in plain white vinegar when you are done. Both amonia and vinegar are very cheap, so it might be worth the little added expense if it is something you really would like to save. Let me know if it works.

I know vinegar is a neutralizer, try that and good luck.

Try putting them in the tub with real hot water and vinegar-don't boil with bleach on the stove-the fumes are too much, been there, done that.

Borax is a wonderful thing for laundry. I often find it works when nothing else will. I was going to suggest white vinegar and a long soak but am glad to see you already have them taken care of.

Lacy,
Can I make a suggestion?
Have you tried oxy wash?
It really does work on cat urine.
I have had much success with it.
You can get it in the supermarket now.
I know a lot of you girls use alot of household stuff, But I myself have never had much success getting the smell of cat urine out of anything with the usual bleach, vinegar, baking soda & borax remedies.
What can you lose? I would not be with out it in my house, it does really work.
Good Luck!!
