Does anyone stick to a weekly cleaning schedule?
I was wondering this because I want to start one and wanted everyones input.
I need help from the experts! LOL
If you have a schedule, please list it here, so I (and anyone else needing some help) can look at it and see what works for everyone else, and maybe we can make our own schedule using trial and error!
Like what do you do on Mondays_______
Tuesdays_______
etc.
Do you only do Laundry on the weekends?
Do you leave the garbage in the trashcan until its full, or do you empty it out on certain days?
Please let us know!

Hi,
I was at another forum that I go to everyday and posted my problem of organization and when to do what around the house and someone pointed me to a system called Flylady www.flylady.com It is a website where you receive a step by step "system" to organize your life...you get an email like every so often to remind you of things you need to do etc. I just joined and the first things she tells you are: get dressed everyday as if you were going to go out (makes you feel more motivated), make your bed everyday and shine your kitchen sink. ( For example, I cooked four dishes today to freeze as I am stockpiling for when I go back to work Monday and I did every single dish by hand because I had to have that kitchen sink shining! LOL!) It sounds weird maybe, but their motto is BABYSTEPS, if you take things too quickly you get overwhelmed!
(Course you may not be as numbingly disorganized and new at housekeeping as I am, and if you are, I apologize for suggesting something too simple for you!)LOL!
And as I learn more, I might actually have more useful information!!Hee Hee!

I am on the flylady list. I am currently no mail, but when I need a boost of motivation, I go back to individual emails.
It's a lot of fun.

I do, I do! I have to clean every week or things will start getting too overwhelming here. I too subscribe to the flylady, but only read the testimonials for inspiration. If you do some cleaning everyday, you feel alot less stressed out.

I used to put everything on a calendar.Month by month and my house was sparkling. Now 1 more kid later I just wing it day to day.But would love to do the calendar again.I even had it every 2 mo. to the day I would clean the carpets.Or every other wed I would clean all the glass in the house.Or every other saturday I would clean the shower.I really need to start doing this again since we are going to be putting the house up for sale in the near future. Thanks for reminding me

Here's my schedule.
Monday -
This is my day off from work and my biggest house cleaning day of the week. I do the following chores:
**Make homemade breakfast for my family.
**Load/unload dishwasher.
**Wipe off kitchen counters.
**Start dinner in the crockpot in the a.m. This allows me to clean house right up until everyone gets in the door at the end of the day. Plus it makes the house smell wonderful with the aroma.
**Strip all the beds of bedding and wash/dry and then make beds.
**Sweep and mop kitchen and utility room floors.
**Vacumn every room in the house.
**Dust every room in the house.
**Clean both bathrooms.
** Clean mirrors with homemade cleaner.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday -
These are my work days. I still do the following chores for home maintenance:
**Vacumn living room, dining room and family room
**Load/unload dishwasher
**Wipe off kitchen counters
**Make beds
**Spray shower with cleaner (I do this every day so I don't have to scrub shower just wipe off with soft sponge. So much easier for me.)
Thursday -
**Clean out refrigerator and microwave
**Grocery shopping
**Orthodontist, Dentist, Dermatologist appointments if needed.
**Spray shower with cleaner
**Load/unload dishwasher
**Make beds
Saturday and Sunday
**Yard work!!!! And family fun time.
Hope this helps.

Oops. I forgot to add that I do laundry everyday - usually one to two loads. And of course, I make breakfast and dinner everyday as well along with kitchen clean-up afterward.

I'd say I have a unspoken schedule...
I do on average about a load of laundry a day. So if I skip a day I do two loads that day.
I always declutter first thing in the morning.
I wash dishes every day first chance I get a long time without the baby needing me. Weekends I usually let it go a bit.
I vauum at least every other day, if not everyday.
I empty the trash at least once a day because it always needs it.
I do my major housecleaning (toilets, dusting, floors etc) near the weekend, or on a saturday. ( but if it needs it mid week I do it then too)
I try to do my major cooking all at once if I can. this is usually a monday or tuesday.
Mid week is when I try to beautify the hosue, by redocorating, or moving some furniture around where it would look better..or hanging a calandar, or moving around frames, orgnaizing my doors and closets..etc.. It's also when I usually change the sheets as well.

I try to have a weekly schedule and I try to stick by it !! However when we are sick or we have doctor's appointments or we have to go some where then my schedule goes out of wack so I am trying to revamp my weekly schedule to fit what I need to do as well as leave some time for uxpected and expected doctor appointments and unexpected and expected trips into town or running errands!!

I try & get some done everyday. I wash a load of clothes everyday & sometimes 2 depending on how much they dirty & do dishes everyday & sweep the kitchen. I try to set 1 room to do each day, that seems to work pretty good to me. Sunday is the day to rest & enjoy family.
