So Disgusting
Okay, we closed on the new house yesterday.
However, with all of the furniture gone, we got a good look at the carpets. I cannot, in my wildest dreams, imagine what the he** is all over those carpets!
They are absolutely disgusting! For a housewarming gift, my mother was going to pay for us to get the carpets cleaned. However, we now realize they are actually going to have to be replaced completely. It is just gross. They didn't have any pets or anything, but it looks like there is poop and pee all over them, there are little spots where it looks like someone shook up bottles of soda and spilled them, one room completely smells musty from the carpet stains, and another carpet is all rusty and weird looking. I'm so annoyed. New carpets were not an expense we had budgeted for. I guess Home Depot, here we come, and roll out your cheapest carpet!

Congratulations on your new home! I'm sorry about the carpets. I don't blame you for being annoyed, you don't need that added expense right now. Hopefully you can find something you like on sale

Amy so sorry to hear that. But congrats on the new home. BTW I really like the super cheapy berber we have in this house. It was here when we moved in, and I recognized it because we used to use it to replace carpet in the rentals.
It wears like iron, and the tweedy flecks in it hide most minor spots that happen.
And for a cheap carpet it is amazingly durable and looks nice all the time.
Vacuums well too.
Our Home Depot has good sales on laminate floors too. When the berber dies, we plan to diy the laminate flooring.

That's a shame Amy !
Congrats on the new house !!!!!!!!!!!
We have Berber here too ! Infact I have berber tile squares, they went down just like tile and look great ! They wear great too ! If you get a stain that just won't come out (and there isn't much that won't come out of this stuff) you can pull up the tile and replace it ................. Good luck !!!!!!!!!
