    Talking new pond!

My husband, put a pond in our back yard. This was a 40th b-day gift! it is arleady attracting frogs and water bugs for them to eat! I love hearing the frogs at night. Who else has pond? None of my tiny cattails grew . Pond not deep enough for koi, unless, I get teeny tiny ones. But it's deep enough to cool off the feet! i am trying to make mt back ayrd a bird/wildlife sancuary. What you'all think of that? anyone do this? Tara: hat: b-day 7/30

Just to let you know, I moved the thread.

Enjoy your pond. Its one thing I wish we had, but with all the mosquitoes, its probably best we don't.

Happy Birthday! What a neat gift. I don't have a pond, but I think they're beautiful. Like HomesteadMama said, we have too many mosquitos.

We have a pond and love it. We put .25 goldfish in ours'. That was 3 yrs. ago and they are really growing. We've had baby fish a few times and gobs of tadpoles.....I think the fish feasted on them..... I love my pond and Cj, if you keep the water moving like with a filter you won't have mosquitos (at least not from the pond...).

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

What a neat birthday present! Hope you had a wonderful birthday and that you enjoy that pond and all the wildlife it brings for years to come.
