    Default Old Calendars

Okay, again, as I'm packing up, I came across something very strange. I can't part with old calendars. I have every calendar I've used dating back to 1996. I don't know why I'm keeping them...maybe to look back and see what I did with my time before having a family? Who knows? Anyway, I'm going to be brave and toss them today, but I'm curious...does anyone else save old calendars? (I'm talking both wall calendars AND pocket calendars.)

Yep I used to. Threw a bunch out with the spring fling & it felt good. I, like you, kept them just because. I might need to know when the last appt for something was or when the last time...was. It just felt like I was throwing part of my life away when I even thought about parting with them. That's when I knew they really had to go, lol. I will keep only one old one now (the previous years)
Another thought is to start journaling, then you can keep track of anything you might want to remember.

I have a hard time tossing them too! They are like a 'life journal' to me!

I go through them and if they don't provide any real information then I toss them. But I do have lots from years ago. I don't have a good memory and they help me to remember things. Lots of them are like journals.

I have a hard time tossing them. But my reason is the pictures. I am very choosy about my calendars so I pick ones that I find inspiring or calming. I am going to try to incorp them into some Christmas gifts this year.

I frame some of the pics I like most. It's a good way to still keep the calendar, and decorate at the same time!

I used to keep them, but now I only keep the one from the previous year.

Some stores in this area sell frames that are sized to frame the pictures from calendars. I've thought of buying some to keep some of the best pictures from last year's calendar.

I only save interesting/cute pictures from old calendars unless it's an antique that's worth some money. Otherwise I clip out the pictures I like for craft projects and toss the rest.

    Amy,
Did you toss them? When I was a teen, I used to log my mood morning, afternoon, and night on my calendars with smiley faces.

I hung onto those calendars for years as proof that I really wasn't a miserable teen. lol

I've set them aside for now. I'm gonna look at them one last time for old time's sake, and then out they go!

I keep my old calendars for the pictures on them and have at least a dozen saved. I am picky about my calendars and choose them for the pictures thinking I can use those pictures in some way.

I did manage to frame a couple for my bedroom because I have an angel theme in that room but I could only find a few frames that I liked that the pictures would fit in.

I was thinking what else could I do with these nice pictures? Maybe make a tote bag out with a clear vinyl pocket where I could slip the picture in and out and change it with the seasons?

    Postcards?

    Greeting cards?

    Gift tags?

    Placemats?

Glue them to cardboard holders for my magazines?

Mount them on thin wood and hang them up without a frame?

What else can we come up with? Honestly, I still can't bear to toss this "art" away!

If it were a calendar I didn't like I would not have a problem parting with it.
