Where's Your Ironing Board?
Okay, I guess the first question should be, do you iron? If so, where is your board, and does it stay out all of the time or does it get put away after use?
I don't iron. I just HATE it. So, my ironing board is folded against the wall, but in the new house, I think I'll keep it open in the laundry room and try to make my family a little more presentable. My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

I used to be an ironing fanatic. I'm reformed now. lol I ironed last night a few things for Gabe. Mine is out and always open and is usually in the laundryroom, but it's currently setup in the family room because I was watching tv while ironing. lol
Dances with Wolves was on.

I don't iron. I don't even think I owned one until college and I got that and a little board from my grandmother. I had to when I worked at the Casino and when I worked at Ruby Tuesday's but I don't iron any of my clothes now. As soon as I take them out of the dryer I hang them up. Now Joe on the other hand has to were a button up shirt, tie and dress pants to work everyday so he gets to do it. He use to keep it in the bedroom and I HATED it. He would never put it up and it was out all the time. (In our bedroom eventhough we had an extra room that was never used) Where we are now (and where we are moving to) it is going to stay in the extra bedroom. I have a tendancy though when I see it out to break it down and slide it under the bed so I don't have to look at it.

I have one of those half-sized ones that hangs over a door, and it lives on the door of the guest bathroom. That's really the only good place to keep it in this house. I iron only when necessary-- I'm a big fan of the "wrinkle release" spray!

In the new house I'll have a laundry room and would like to get a normal ironing board.

Mine stays up all the time and I usually press over what I'm wearing to work each morning. I keep mine in my walk-in closet in my bedroom. I rarely iron anything of dd's. Most of her clothes are okay straight from the dryer. Mel irons his work clothes as he needs them (in the summer he hardly irons anything but once school starts he has to look professional).

Mine is open and set up in my craft/sewing room.
I don't iron clothing too often, but I'm forever ironing/pressing fabric.

I used to iron everything: underclothes, dishtowels, literally everything...
Now though - I keep it up in the kitchen, next to the washer & dryer....
I went back to caring for GW's BDUs/Dcus for him which is never ending....
I iron something for someone on a daily basis...

I only iron if it's ABSOLUTELY necessary!
My ironing board stays tucked away in a cupboard when not in use (Which is a lot of the time!!!)

Mine lives in my sewing room/upstairs guest room, most times it's folded, propped against the wall.
It's out in view ready for easy set up though, and that helps. The iron is always on a shelf inside that rooms' closet.

Mine is on the back porch, folded up next to the washer. I set it up in the kitchen to use it, only when I'm sewing.

Mine's propped up against a wall behind a door in the spare room. I also use it more when I am sewing.
I try and avoid buying clothes that need a lot of ironing.

YOU mean, MY buffet table?
I picked up an old, built in unit, at a yard sale and we have it mounted in the wall. It's between the kitchen and living room.

I don't mind ironing, however, having said that, I had an ironing/cleaning lady who did all our ironing for years and years. I let her go when I decided the simple frugal life was for me. So maybe when I've ironed for a few years I won't like it. But for now I usually have my ironing board stored in the laundry room. I iron watching TV so then it's in the lounge room, but presently it's in the kitchen because I've been sewing.
I hope that makes sense. I wish I could just answer a question with one sentence.

I only iron as needed. I keep my ironing board beside the fridge-out of sight.
