Fall is Painting Season Here
Well I am absolutely worn out, but at least I accomplished something. When we built the house we left a space for a kitchenette in the basement. We finally got the cabinets and sink in about a year ago, but it took bit longer to get the water piped to the sink. Finally all that has been done for several months but the walls were just sitting there with primer only on them. Saturday morning I got up at 5:00 and started painting. I painted a nice heavy base coat and let it dry. Then I sponged on a slightly lighter coat and painted 2 coats of the lighter color on all the trim. The area has 3 door ways to have to paint. I hate painting trim! Finally I put up a really cute border that I got from the Dollar Tree. It has eggplants, tomatoes, etc on a light tan background that looks like ceramic tiles. I love using the prepasted Dollar Tree border but I do put it up with glue as I don't think they put enough glue on it. Then I cleaned the wood floor with a sponge and bucket of water. The space is tiny but looks so good. It's my favorite paint job so far.
Next weekend, I am repainting the breakfast nook upstairs and putting up border.
Got the fall spruce up bug going big time!
