Appliances Placement Question
I'd like some advice.
Our stove and our dishwasher are black. In the new kitchen, Rob had asked for them to be next to each other, but now it looks a little strong with the two black appliances next to each other. My options are...
-leave them like this and deal with it.
-put the dishwasher next to the white fridge with wood cabinets between it and the stove on the other side
-move the dishwasher to the island
What are your thoughts? They also told me they could move the sink to the island and then the whole counter could be a food prep area, which is a cool thought, but then my back is to the room. Not that I prep food with a crowd, but I had been thinking of the island as a food prep area. What do you think? My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

I've read in the past that your dishwasher should never be next to your refrigerator. I can't remember exactly what it was, but I want to say that the heat from running the dishwasher causes the refrigerator to have to work extra hard and shortens its life span greatly.
Without seeing the room in person....... are there any other touches of color/stainless on the stove or dishwasher? That might help break up all the black a bit if there is.
Me personally - I would leave it as is. I would want the island as a food prep center and would rather not have the sink and dishwasher as part of it.

Amy have you given any thought to maybe using a spacer between the stove & dishwasher? That would help to break up the boldness a bit

I agree - maybe a small cabinet between the two??
Also - what Kim said about the heat is what I had heard as well....

No space for a spacer....there's going to be a 3/8" piece of wood to separate.
