Yep.
But I'm WAAAAY sicker of cooking!
FLYlady allows me to babystep through the house instead of doing a ton of housework all at once. It stays suprisingly clean, but I am an empty nester, like you, Lisa.
And my DH doesn't care at all about the house, ...his mom was a psychotic-ly clean housekeeper and screamed all the time (she had 5 boys, you have to learn to give it up at some point!)
I care, and like it clean, but I'm not psychotic.
Cooking however-----I am sooooo tired of cooking.______

Yes, I am so ready for someone to invent a Rosie like in the Jetsons - lol! I have one cat that sheds like a fiend, so even after I sweep, vacuum and clean everything, 5 minutes later there are hair tumbleweeds in the corner of the kitchen - yuck!

I tend to clean in closets and then turn around a get upset because I can't immediately see results. I hate dishes because if I clean them people around here feel free to make as many as they like. Never reusing a glass they just used. I hate mopping the floor and having my husband or the dogs tromp dirt. It's endless. If I could have one area no one else could go,it would be clean. Then and only then will I like cleaning.

more often then not I feel like I'm chasing my tail. One thing I love to do is vacuum, no idea why I just love to vacuum. The on thing I hate more then anything is folding and putting away laundry. I've gotten better about it but I've been known to have 3 or 4 baskets full of clean laundry just sitting there. Sad but true! LOL

I hate cleaning all together. I hate that people don't pick up after themselves and that I am supposed to.

I think all homes should come with a big drain in the floor and firefighter-type high pressure hoses in every room. Can you imagine how much fun 'cleaning' would be????
Seriously, when I get sick of it, I watch an episode of "How Clean Is Your House?' on BBCAmerica. EXTREMELY motivating because the people on the show had to start somewhere!!

Mary,
That's too funny! I once saw this bathroom on tv, a public pay bathroom that self cleaned after every customer. It was so cool, it would lock down and go into scrub and sanitize mode. It literally scrubbed every inch and then sucked all the water back up and be ready for the next customer. They were considered for big cities in th usa but they decided againist it because they were sure homeless people would pay the fee and then use them as a safe place to sleep. When I saw those I was thinking wouldn't it be cool to have a home version? Now you couldn't have any style or design but I think I could forgo that for a self cleaning bathroom!~~~

I remember that self-cleaning bathroom story, too! I just wish I could get my hands on some pixies that liked to sneak into your house at night and straighten things up! Heck, I'd leave my door unlocked if I thought it would work!

LOL!!! Well there's a throw back. I guess you too were told the story of the shoemaker! I'd love it if that elusive "not me ghost" that lives in my house would start cleaning at night!

I don't get sick to death of it; I just don't do it very often! I wish I was a better housekeeper. I need to overcome procrastination!

I hate cleaning house and I absolutely hate that the "world" considers a person less than for keeping a less then perfect house. I will never do that. We have never had food poisoning and the clutter isn't the best but there are other things so much more important going on in the world.

What I hate more then cleaning is a dirty house so I do some cleaning everyday, that I think are the basic chores around the house.
Make the bed, dishes done, a load of wash and a general pick up of the common areas. I usually sweep once a day too. I swipe the bathrooms down a couple of times a week
Deep cleaning not so much, once in a while

I hit that point last year. I cleaned my house every day and then I asked myself, "isn't there more to life than this?" Yes! I do the basics every day.....beds made, dishes done and I never have more than two loads of laundry to do at one time because I stay on top of it and I keep the bathrooms swiped. However, I don't dust and mop like I used to and I am absolutely perfectly fine with it and have been much more relaxed.
