Default While at home, during the course of the day....re:cleaning up

I was just cleaning up the lunch time mess and I was wondering......

Do you clean up each mess as it's made or do you pile it all in the sink, run a little water over it and let it sit until you're in there for an extended period again - like for cooking supper say. I do both, at different times. Depends on what I want to get accomplished and whether or not I've just cleaned house I'm just interested in how my FV sisters do it.

All depends on my day. I try to clean as I go but sometimes it just gets left until the kids do the dishes after supper.

I pile it all into the dishwasher and turn it on once a day after dinner at night.

    Depends on who you ask.....

If you're asking me - I clean each item as it gets dirtied...

If you're asking GW - I take the glass before he's done with the last gulp & before he has a chance to swallow, the glass has been washed, dried, and placed in it's proper spot in the cabinet!

    can you say anal retentive??
I think I am the antithesis!! I pretty much could wait til they walk themselves to the dishwasher!!

I am kidding really but I hate cleaning the kitchen more than anything cuz noone puts their dishes in the sink - no one puts their trash in the can, noone knows how to clear their plate and I have to go on scavenger hunts to find all of the glasses!! Bruce actually dared to come home bragging the other day - "you know I had lunch at ma's and I rinsed my dish and pushed my chair in, I don't know why I can't do that here - I guess you have just made it too easy!! " He's just lucky he doesn't wake up sewn to the carpet sometimes!!

AS much as I would like to clean as I go it doesn't alway's happen. There are some day's when I'm here alone so its just one glass or so to clean, but on the rare occasions we are both home and cook, we eat and leave the mess for later.

Depends, if there is room I'll put them in the dw straight away if not a nice rinsed pile of dishes ready to pop into the dw after kind son empties it is fine with me. If companys coming, arrooooga arrooooga all hands on deck everything must be put in it's proper place.
Gentle sigh, my counter top is somwhat clean, some dishes are in the washer( I made dinner & then put the dishes in the dw) & dh will take care of the rest in the morn.
Now here I am, frolicking in the village, I do...do...this well.

I clean as I cook and put them in the dishwasher and run it first thing in the morning. I have to have everything neat and tidy.

I pile dishes in the sink during the day then unload and reload the dishwasher at bedtime.... unless we're having company.

I read once that it's better on your water bill to run the dishwasher late at night (non-peak usage hours, plus less stress on the water heater) so I got into that habit a long time ago.

It depends on my mood and how busy the day is. I do like the kitchen pretty well picked up and crumbs washed away, but there are days......
