    Default Deep Fryer ??

Hi. Does anyone here know how to clean a deep fryer? I got one at a yard sale on Sat. It is a Delonghi 612. Helppp!!! I'm dying to make some eggrolls but I can't start because I don't know if I can clean this thing.

I have one (it looks like a mini crock pot), and I'm telling you, if you don't change the oil and clean it everytime you use it, they're a real pain to clean, especially if it starts to get sticky.

So if this thing is a real disaster, you want to find some stuff called Mean Green, it's a degreaser you can use on everything from pots and pans, to a laundry presoak, you can even clean your driveway with this stuff. I get mine at Family Dollar for a $1.00 for a huge bottle. You may want to see if you can get it at Wal Mart. If it's not in with the household cleaners, try looking in automotive, and make sure it says "degreser", they have several different products.

Anyways, spray the inside of fryer with this stuff (and the lid, basket and outside if necessary), let sit for about a day or so. Then what I do after it sits is fill it 1/2 way with hot water and a couple squirts dish soap and scrub the heck out of it with an SOS pad. You may need to repeat the process once more if it's really nasty. I've only had to do this once, when I thought I'd be saving time and money by not changing the oil every time. If you dump out the cooled oil right away, it's as easy to clean as your pots and pans. Hope this helps!!

    Thumbs up

    Laura,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The degreaser worked like a charm. It looks brand new. It looks too good to use now. LOL.
