    Default Help with a recipe

I need a homemade recipe for clothes detergent for super sensitive skin - everything I have tried from the store makes Bruce itch like crazy - he has psoriasis. Does any one have a recipe along those lines??

These are the basic recipes I'm aware of - http://www.thefrugalshopper.com/arti...etergent.shtml

I'm doing price comparisons on ingredients right now for the powdered version. I'm having trouble finding Fels Naptha or Zote though so I may just end up using a bar of Ivory instead.

Fels Naptha is at the big grocery stores and at walmart in with the bluing and specialty spot removers - Mrs. Wtights etc. It comes in a white paper wrapped bar and is 1.12 here. I could send you a bar - I have been usiing it for about 15 years - I use a veggie grater and grate it into my laundry.

Thank you for the site- I use all thes things with my detergent so evidentally I have been doing over kill - I can completely omit my store bought detergent - Thank you so much for the website. Do you find your clothes get just as clean without the added store bought detergent??
For instance in My loads I use 1/2 c. detergent w/ colorsafe bleach, 1/2 c. 20 mule team Borax, about an 1/8 of a cup of shaved fels naptha, 2 t. vinegar or soda, and I add a cup of biz if its a white load.

I haven't tried the homemade stuff yet, but am anxious to (I currently use All Free Clear). We have Publix here (which supposedly carries Fels Naptha according to that site, but the stores here don't have it). I have to go to Wally World tomorrow for errands so I'm checking there and comparing prices on the other ingredients. Thanks for offering to send me some! I have read that the Ivory bars work just as well and I have plenty of those!
