    Default Summer Clothes/Winter Clothes

Renee's closet decluttering post got me thinking about my closets. I would have a lot more space if I had an alternate location for out of season clothes. Do you switch your clothes around in your closets due to the seasons? I have all of my clothes for all seasons in my closet and my drawers. I may try to pull out total out of season stuff (like summer dresses, etc.) and put them elsewhere just to make it less cluttered.

So, I guess the question is, do you switch around your closet with the seasons?

No, I don't do this, I have thought about it, but never do it! I would have a lot more room, but I have nowhere to store the out of season clothes! Maybe when we buy a new house (hopefully soon) I'll have lots of storage space!

I do, anything that can be folded gets put into under the bed storage containers. The containers are on wheels so it makes it easy to slide these out to vacume under the bed. As far as dresses and things that need to be hung I just rearrange my closet so the summer clothes are in the back together, and the winter clothes are hanging all together in front (seasonally). I really don't have anywhere to put these, unless I stored them in the basement or crawl spaces. yuck! I am also fortunate to have 2 coat closets so I can keep spring-fall jackets in one and the winter jackets in another. I also do a big no, no, but it works for me, I have a lage box that I switch shoes in with the seasons. This does crush some of my shoes so my dress shoes are kept in shoe boxes on a shelf. I forget why they say not to do this, but it does keep them out of my way. I do stuff some of them with newspaper so they keep their shape.
