Into the Home Stretch
Well, 2004 is almost over and I feel like it went by in the blink of an eye. Every year, I make a decluttering New Year's Resolution, and I do stick with it. This year, I want to make an End of the Year Resolution that by December 31st, I will have tossed away or donated 10 bags of stuff that I am not using or that is trash. (This, of course, does not include regular, everyday trash.) As I have been decluttering on a pretty regular basis lately, this is going to be a challenge. But then again, that's the whole point! I'm so committed to this that I'm not even going to count the two bags that I threw away today in preparation for Patrick's baptism party, nor the box of items I took to the consignment shop! I may not start tonight...this may wait until tomorrow, but I am going to do it. It's my end of the year resolution and I want to do myself proud.
Don't worry...I'm sure to make a new decluttering resolution on January 1st! I'm addicted to decluttering!

I tossed 3 bags today, but I'm only going to count one towards this goal because I think one was pretty much garbage, not decluttering/organizing stuff.

Very awesome!
I keep staring at a closet filled with boxes of baby clothes and thinking it's time to do something with them, but am having a difficult time letting go. ugh
I have one closet filled with stuff (mostly electronics, cables, wires, adaptors) that could go into our empty attic and a laundry basket filled with papers. (yes a whole basket full)
Other than that, I'm dejunked. (oops except the paperbacks that I keep threatening to get rid of)
Any tips on letting go of baby clothes? I usually don't have a problem tossing, but am having the worst time with letting go of the clothes. I don't know if it's that I keep thinking I might need them or if it's the fact that Alexandra isn't a baby anymore. I don't know. I just know I had them all boxed up and ready to donate last year and then didn't. I even sometimes pull them out and just look at them. It's crazy!
I so wish I could just take trash bags and fill and be done with it like you are doing. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online.
