    Default Today

Alright, I took a personal day today because the chimneys are being cleaned and, of course, they gave me a few hour window as to when they would arrive. So, I'm going to spend my day in a variety of ways.

    1. laundry - I plan on doing everyone's laundry in the house and getting it all put away as well. I want empty laundry baskets in everyone's bedroom.

    2. garbage - I had previously set a goal for myself to toss a certain amount of garbage and clutter from my house before the end of the year. I plan on using today to, hopefully, move that goal along. I'm going to go from room to room with bags and go through drawers and clean off horizontal surfaces, etc. and fill up the bags.

    3. toy removal - since I sent the kids to daycare, I am free to go through the toybox and really find broken, unused toys and either toss them, or box them up and take them to the Salvation Army BEFORE I pick the kids up this afternoon.

    4. village - I've spent some time here this morning, catching up on posts. I'm going to use the village as a reward for a job well done. Everytime I make progress on a one of today's goals, I will come to the village to update this thread and to check out the new posts. Village time is a huge reward to me!

    Wish me luck!

Right before Christmas is a great time to "thin out" the toys. I agree, this HAS to be done when the little ones are not home. I hope you have a productive day.

Sounds great! I always seem to be behind in laundry and would love to purge old/broken toys. I really should tackle closets again. I have three that could use some decluttering.

My to do list is light daily cleaning with focus on bathrooms.

Not much on the agenda for me. Typical routine.

    Have a great day off!

Wow sounds like a really productive day. I totally agree with the toy decluttering while kids aren't there - it's the only way I can get it done as well.

Good for you Amy. I need to go through my teens rooms and toss out all kinds of junk that they never use.

*DONE* I have my final load in now and I have put everything else away. This load will not be finished until after I pick up the kids, but Julia enjoys "helping" me put laundry away, so we can do the last load together!

*DONE* Well, sorta done. I filled up 2 bags, but a lot of the stuff was actual garbage from the day, like from going through a few days worth of mail, etc. So, I'm only going to count it as one bag toward my goal.

So, essentially, I fulfilled my goal! I felt really good about my day yesterday.
