Question Anyone tossing before New Year's?

I have decided to declutter as much stuff or junk in this house before New Year's day. I have went through my desk and got rid of junk that was not necessary. Today is garbage day and I'm going to see how much I can get rid of before the garbage comes. If it isn't mine and belongs to someone else its going back to them. I have most of my christmas decorations put down except for the tree and one wreath. Plan on getting that down today. I have New Year's weekend off and I just want to relax and play around with my budget for the new year and see where I have to tweak my budget. Just sick and tired of stuff and want to get rid of it. Have been decluttering for the last six months and it feels good not to have any junk laying around that I don't need. Well like I said it's garbage day today and I have to get off this computer to get the rest of the junk out of here and in the garbage so I can refill my trash can again. Everyone have a good day and declutter day. Renee

We are. Thursday is garbage day here, so I plan on doing some decluttering today, and dh and I are going to clean out the garage tomorrow.

Me too. I just did dd's room except for her desk. Thats next. I have one full box to donate to goodwill from her room.

Next its the boy's room - UGH!!!! Ds#1 has a fixation on paper and that means any size and shape. Some of it is going out today, period.

Then its going to be my sewing room if I have time or don't run out of steam.

Boy's room is done except to go through their clothes. I took one full box of paper scraps out of there.

It was so funny as soon as ds seen me cleaning dd's room, he figured he better get started in his room because he doesn't like me throwing out the paper. Little did he know this mom was on a mission to get rid of all scrap papers, both in his and dd's rooms.

    I think paper grows.

I am trying. I am mainly working on a craft/sewing room. Tomorrow DH is taking the girls somewhere for awhile so I can attack the toy mountain without little helpers.

Got all my christmas decorations put up yesterday and straightened up the area where I put the christmas decorations. Also, got rid of boxes that I do not need. How many boxes do I need to wrap gifts in? Only tossed the ones that were no longer good. Going to work on the kitchen today before New Year's. Whem my youngest daughter gets home were going to work on her room. Sounds like a few others on here are getting their decluttering done before New Year's rolls in. Good luck. Renee

It's a continuing thing with me. I've been tossing a bunch lately. One of my goals is to clean up my attic. I've been doing a lot of that today. I have a nice pile I'm sorting to give to the thrift shop and I'm organizing the stuff I'm going to try and ebay. I'm going to try not to accumulate so much. I only spent 91 cents today at the thrift store.

Count me in. Worked a bit earlier this week on decluttering. Hoping to spend tomorrow doing some major decluttering.

One of my goals of decluttering is that when I do the laundry is to get rid of mismatched socks if cannot find the pair or ones with holes in them. One thing I hate to buy is socks, but don't have any choice. How does everyone keep their socks white. I cannot use any bleach of any kind or any other detergent except for Tide free. Just wondering how to keep them darn socks white! Thanks.
