LG brand - anyone tried them??
My dryer ( Maytag atlantis - washer and dryer only 4 years old) is about to take a second dump on me - this will be the second time I have had to replace the $38.00 timer in four years!!! And the thing is I put it on myself so its ONLY $38 each time I could add about $160 if the Dude came out to do it!! Since I really want a front loading washer and a larger dryer I am debating "needing" new machines - Has anyone had any experience with the LG brand - they have an awesome looking set- similar to the Maytag Neptune but I am a little put off by Maytag....

My ds and dil have an LG TV and they are having a bit of trouble with that vibrating with the sound. It went back to the manufacturers under warranty but they couldn't find anything wrong! I don't know about washers and dryers though!

Sorry, I don't know anything about the brand. I have a fairly new Kenmore top loading washer and a Whirlpool dryer that is 2 years old that a guy at work wanted to throw away because he said it broke. Hubby got it, brought it home, replaced the broken belt and it runs like a top. I think he paid $8 for the belt. That was a year ago. My old dryer died on us a few months back so we just threw it out and replaced it with our $8 dryer. The guy told hubby he paid $600 for that dryer! LOL

kimmee, I've had an LG fridge in the past. I hated it, it leaked. At the same time I bought the fridge I bought an LG dishwasher. It died after only two years.
I have a front loader. It's an Asko, a Swedish brand. It's fabulous and I've never had a problem with it in the almost 8 years I've had it. It's the best washing machine I've ever owned.

Today I took apart the dryer and it seems it has burnt up another cord and the ground wire to the timer - the timer is still good - luckily I was home when I was running it as it did catch fire and burnt up the bridge that holds all of the wires. So tomorrow I am getting another cord and a new bridge and I am giving this bugger one more chance. Thanks for the tips on the LG brand Rhonda - Guess I will hold out for a new Whirlpool set to come along. Since I will get another year out of my new cord!
