Some Clutter Wisdom

I'm taking a little de-clutter break for a few days because of my cold (I just want to come home from work and be still for a bit before starting dinner) and since I would never ask you to do something I'm not doing, we'll get back to the challenge in a day or two.

In the meantime, I found three pieces of clutter wisdom that I liked in Donna Smallin's book The One-Minute Organizer . I thought I'd share them with you.

-Things have a useful life, and then they because useless. Sure, you can use an old T-shirt as a rag, but do you really need another rag? Give yourself permission to get rid of it.

-Decide to play by the rule: If it's ugly or unfixable, it's out of here.

-We often hold on to things we no longer use because we paid "good money" for them. But what is the value of a designer suit that just hangs in your closet, getting older and dustier every year. Zero. Donate that suit, and it could be worth $30,000 a year to the woman who wears it to an interview and gets the job.
