Default I'm Back and Want to See You Upstairs!

By upstairs, of course, I mean partcipating in the declutter/organization challenge that is above the main forum.

Spring is coming. Let's lighten our load and really get serious about the state of our homes. As always, only do what is comfortable for you...but the point is: DO SOMETHING!

Remember...you can't take it with you, but it can certainly bog you down while you are here!

For those of you who will be new to the challenge, we've already decluttered and organized our Kitchens, Master Bedrooms, and Offices. Come join us to see where we'll be working next! There are also little mini-challenges along the way that are opportunities for us all to be successful! Remember, if I can do it, you can do it!

Thanks Amy! While I've been away from the computer the last few weeks I've got so much done around here and I've been referring to your threads. My office area....done! Kitchen, in progress! Master bedroom...should be done today! It feels so good to get rid of all the "stuff" that has just been boxed up and not used for years. I love the show Clean Sweep and after watching it I get in the purging mood too.

I find it interesting that some things we have in our house have been there so long that we couldn't even think of getting rid of them BUT when we really think about it and look at the space it is taking up not including our time moving it, cleaning, tripping over it, having it just isn't worth it. For example, in my bedroom I've had a stool in there since we moved five years ago, it sits in a corner BUT no one uses it, it serves no purpose in my bedroom, I dust it week after week SO I took it out and sent it off to the consignment store.......it sold immediately, I have $20.00 in my pocket and a lovely area in my bedroom of "open" space.

Although there are some items I have that are just "lovely" with no functional purpose I would never think of getting rid of....I think it's a matter of re-evaluating how you want your home to "feel".
