Help me clean my shower doors...PLEASE!

Okay, I vacuum, dust, sweep, mop, etc., and for the most part, do it with a smile. However...THE SHOWER DOORS ARE MY NEMESIS!!! I can't stand cleaning them. We moved into this house with a brand new bathroom and I swore up and down that I would never let them look like the ones in the old house, and today I was taking a shower, and I looked over and imagine my horror when I had flashbacks to the old house. Does ANYONE know a QUICK, PAINLESS, EASY, and FRUGAL way to keep these darn things clean?

If it's a glass shower door brillo pads will do the trick!
These are about 1.85 at my store with about 10 pads..but after coupon it makes the box about 35 cents..these things work SO good..I have tried stupid scrubbing bubbles..and other cleaners that claim to do the trick but they didn't!

I swear by the brillo pads!

Try baking soda. I have found that it cleans almost anything with very little effort. I love it for the inside of the stove! Just make a thin paste and let sit and it does most of the work for you.

I like Greased lightning, It works well on everything and costs about $3 a bottle.

When we moved in I used brillo to get the old nasties off, now I use Windex once a week to keep it up.

Have you tried THE WORKS cleaner. i have glass doors too and once a week I use that on them and they are nice and clean.

What about a fiberglass tub-surround? We had a rust problem with our water until we dug our new well. Some of the rust is still on the shower walls. It makes the shower look dirty, even though it's not. What can I use that won't scratch the fiberglass? (Baking soda is a great idea! I might try that-it works on scuffs on the kitchen floor)

I have clear glass shower doors and the best thing I've found for keeping them clean is plain white vinegar and baking soda. I just spray them down with vinegar, put some baking soda on a sponge and start wiping them down. When the baking soda comes in contact with the vinegar you should hear it make a fizzing noise - that means it's working. If it doesn't fizz, it means the baking soda is old and won't work as effectively. I just rinse the doors afterward with water.

Mustang80- I clean my fiberglass tub with oven cleaner when I can't get hard water stains out using Lysol Tub, tile and basin cleaner. Spray it on, let it sit for a couple mins (I wouldn't let it sit any longer than that), and then scrub with a scrubby sponge. Comes out like brandy new, LOL! And to keep hard water from collecting on there for a good 6 months or so, put on a coat of car wax like you would do to wax your car. The water just beads right off- then the only thing you need to clean your shower is warm water and dish soap. Hope this helps!!

I use baking soda, water & a little liquid soap to wash my tubs & showers but can't seem to find a good recipe that actually works on getting shower door clean.
I'd appreciate hearing what works for others!

I don't know if this is green or not but I use dawn dish det. It seems to work very well for me.

I don't have a natural recipe, but have used CLR with great results. I now use a squeegee after the last shower, and I no longer have to worry about soap scum. Sometimes it's a hassle if you are in a hurry, but the little extra work saves you a TON of time cleaning your shower!
