Getting Garage Sale Ready Here
Okay, so even though I have a few more days of school left, for the most part, summer has come. This means, garage sale time for me. I don't have as much stuff as I have in the past for previous sales, but I still want to get rid of some of this stuff and a little money is better than no money!
Anyone else getting ready to hold a sale or have any tips or thoughts on preparing? I know we've already shared many ideas about garage sales, but it never hurts to hear it twice! My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

I like to set up clothing so it's easier for people to look at it without messing up my piles lol. I button the buttons, zip the zippers, tie the strings, snap the snaps, etc. I pin together outfits. Hang up higher priced or nicer items like coats & dresses.
Put the size on the price tag.
Speaking of prices, be sure to lable EVERYTHING. If something is negotiable, but $$ OBO (or best offer) or Make Me an Offer.
Put like things with like. Have a section on a table for books (separate adult & children's books), a section for toys, a section for kitchen stuff, etc.
Make sure your most attractive stuff is visual. If you have something you think will be a quick sell, put it out front to draw people in
Advertise advertise advertise. Check your city/town's website or news website to see if they offer free online ads. Put fliers in grocery stores & on light poles (if allowed). Put a big colorful sign out front (if allowed).
One way to get around city ordances of no signs or signs too small for a gnat to see is to put a big sign in the window of your car and park it on the street in front of your house
