Lightbulb musings on the price of OXI clean powder

    which I love.

The cost of a costco tub of OXI and one of my nice Tabi Tshirts on sale is about the same.

That OXI has saved more tshirts, not to mention dressy sweaters and blouses from permanent food, coffee and tea stains and even the odd wine stain.

I'm a dribbler. Always have been.

Once a week I do an OXI soak for my clothes, panties, bras, tops and white or light pants (my usual wardrobe) even my socks.

Without harming the clothing, it gets most stains out. (and I do pretreat with Shout gel or whatever it is, that you can put in up to a week in advance).

I've tried washing them just with the stain remover but it often leaves a shadow of the stain. So OXI it is.

Since I love whites and pastels, using OXI has saved me LOTS AND LOTS of clothing that otherwise would cease being wearable in public.

So it finally occurred to me that by saving just one of my nice tops, the OXI powder paid for itself, the rest is pure profit!!!!

    Default

    My OXI method:

Fill washer with LOWEST possible level of HOTTEST POSSIBLE WATER.

Add 1/4 to 1/3 cup OXI powder and the clothes, and agitate.

(If you need more water, add more hot water, and OXI powder)

STOP THE MACHINE and soak for 6 hours MINIMUM.

    I usually do it overnite.

Then next morning get up, turn the water level up to full using more hot water, and add the usual amount of detergent and let it run thru it's cycle.

I do 2 separate rinse cycles in cold water after that.

    Works like a charm!!!!!
