I wear lace up running shoes (trainers, sport shoes) in the house for support.

I had a case of plantar fasciaitis which can lead to heel spurs down the road if you let that go on. It's a painful inflammation of the sheet of connective tissue that goes under the heel.

Cure?-- and I've been cured for years now--

Wearing supportive shoes with good cushioning inside and out.

So I wear house shoes (newest and best pair) indoors, and the more worn ones outside. Usually 2 pair of each so they rest a day between wearings.

That and wearing freshly laundered white cotton socks every day (bliss) keeps them fresh. If I feel hot and sweaty a change of socks and shoes just gives my feet a treat.

My feet don't hurt anymore, my legs feel good and I can keep walking and working around the house. More bounce to the ounce so to speak.

Another side benefit is that my heels don't crack.

Like a lot of other Canadians I don't like outside shoes coming indoors so having an indoor and outdoor set fixes the problem.

I usually don't wear shoes in my house, but if I do, I'll wear clogs. I don't like tie up shoes.

In winter, I mostly wear tennis shoes which have ties. Summer, I wear mostly sandals, flip flops. I don't like having my feet on the floor (we have wood floors that gather a lot of dirt and dust...the bottom of my girls' feet stay nasty from the floor). I might go barefoot in a carpeted house though. They stay cleaner in this OK heat and dust.

Yes, I always wear shoes. Since I work outside the home, a lot of times I'll wear heels or dress shoes that don't have laces. I think this counts - they're not just easy to slip off like some sandals or flip-flops.

And I have found from personal experience that they do help with attitude - the last time I was unemployed, I found myself really moping and not doing any housework, so instead of putting on sneakers, I actually wore my work heels around the house - and it worked! I guess something about feeling like I had a job (even if it was just being a good housekeeper) made me more inclined to actually do the work.

I don't have any tie shoes that fit my feet anymore!

A few years back I've had a foot problem luckily then I was wearing the NIKE hiking style boots & the really thick fleecy socks I opened the back of my suv while stopping to pick-up a dresser I saw out for trash a few blocks away on my way home from the bank. As I opened the liftgate area the jack came rolling out & hit my left foot It hurt alot! I didn't know DH didn't have it ratchet tied in place. (It's not the normal car jack DH never trusts those he needs the professional type w/the wheels & long handle to pump it up.) I was lucky I wasn't wearing my Dr. Scholls sandals which I had on for the past few days.

I went home after putting everything back in my suv. My foot was throbbing but my toes were ok I didn't break any but my big toe hurt the most & I still have a tiny spot on the skin like a blood blister under the skin. This area was very sensitive & any pressure on it would hurt. I wasn't able to wear any type of shoes for awhile. I was walking around in my slippers good thing the Lands End ones I had has a leather sole (bought them @ the thrift shop $2 brand new) Yeah explaining to my cute UPS guy why I'm wearing my slippers outdoors & walking a bit funny...because I was in pain I couldn't put any pressure on the big toe so I kinda walked on the side of my foot. Keona would always by accident put her on the exact spot that hurt she couldn't step on the other foot now. Same thing w/me I'd bump the hurt toe all the time.

It took awhile then & I had to buy shoes a size bigger than my normal size. If I wanted to wear socks. Nothing tight though. I have circulations problems w/my hands & feet from nerve damage back in a 1994 car accident.

I hardly ever wear socks except when it's really cold out N snowing only the fleecey kind made w/comfort temp (they keep my feet comfy, dry, & warm) I just wear my Rkya's w/out socks.

I've been wearing an old pair of Reebok white leather sneakers that have a tied shoe lace, but also open backs. So I just slip them on when running out the door. I bought these from QVC about 2 years ago (they were comfy) getting worn out now!

My current slip on's I wear daily are by Ryka they were a TSV from QVC over a year ago I bought 2 pairs white, blue (I wear alot of denium)

The white are starting to fall apart on the sides the material layer is ripping but no real holes yet! They've got a few more miles left of wearing. Even then I won't get rid of 'em I'll just wear them indoors when going down the basement to do the or out in the garden.
I tried switching to the blue but they are kinda tight (not worn in yet!)

I have a pair of Ked's chocolate brown leather clogs I wear usually when getting dressed up.

I have a pair of Birkenstok clogs & sandals too! Another QVC TSV good price I don't remember now what I paid but it was under $100 & more than $50? I don't wear them that much they feel weird on my feet. I bought DH Mom a pair of the sandals for a Birthday present after her Knee operation about a year ago & she loves them it's the only "shoes" she wears.

I disagree with wearing shoes in the house. I dont' want to track dirt in , and now that I have new carpet, I make everyone take their shoes off!! In the winter, I do wear slippers though

I wear shoes at home, but unless I've already gone out for the day, they are slip ons.

I'm a major believer in the FlyLady program, and I'm always in shoes -- in the summer, though, I do just wear sandals around the house. I like my comfy black leather sandals, but I make the excuse that they are buckle-on sandals, so it's not easy to kick them off or forget that they're there. In the winter, I wear sneakers more, to keep my tooties warm.
