    Default Your Kitchen Counters

Can you see every inch of your kitchen counters? Are there parts of your counters that are covered in clutter? If so, let's clear them off!

My counters have some permanent items, like my KitchenAid and my banana-ripener-hanger-thingy, so as I declutter my counters, I'm going to take those off and clean beneath them. Then, they go back, but nothing else does!

Earlier today I cleaned off the island and phewf, does it look better! This afternoon I'll be working on the other counter spaces. Everything has a home and I know my kitchen counter is NOT the home!

Anyone with me? Care to clear the counters?

    done,

the coffeepot, fil's tray he made me stored on edge beside it,

and the 5 blue canisters of stuff I use all the time--flour, oatmeal, sugar, tea and fake sugar packets but those are permanent residents and they are all tucked into the corner behind the fridge and are out of sight lines as you look into my kitchen.

The crockpot fills up one deep corner and is quite pretty, being a pure white oval one with decorative white raised trim.

What else you can see and are decorative elements are the blue and white teapot, and the wooden cutting board behind it on one side of the stove and a blue and white dish of onions, garlic and ginger on the other.

I love the spicy wood tones of the onions, and the wood cutting board setting off the blue and white. (the onions keep better that way and I use them all the time in cooking)

Knives are 4 in total and are all stored between the stove and counter in my "knife block" which is nothing more than shoving the knives down in that gap.

No non permanent items. Nothing hung on the walls beyond the wallpaper.

Well, I don't care to do it, but it needs doing, so I'm in. I had to do it today or tomorrow anyway, sine my mother is coming.

I started on this yesterday; I'm about half done. I've got to figure out where to put some things. I love it when my kitchen counters are clutter and appliance free. The kitchen looks so much better!

I guess this is where it comes in handy to not have any kitchen counters The benefits of having a house built in 1882 and a kitchen that's only been updated enough for running water, electricity & gas LOL.

No counters, so they must be cleaned off

If you don't have counters what do you use? A table?

I'm in. I was camping with a bunch of cubs this weekend and my kitchen has suffered big time.
I am finally going to break down and find a place in my storage for my wheat grinder because I only use it about once a week (and then I freeze the freshly ground flour) and it is huge!

Where do you ladies store your bread? Cupboard or fridge?

I store my bread in a bread basket near the toaster oven or the freezer.

Cabinets are cleared... just the essentials Coffee pot, Banana hanger, can opener and paper towels...

    Oh and some decorative fluff

If I have any extensive food prep I do it at the dining room table. But usually I just do it at the stove or the sink. the sink has double sideboards, so that helps. But they're only 24" wide...just big enough to hold a dishdrainer.
