Do You Ever...
...set mini goals and rewards for yourself with regards to housework?
For example, right now my kitchen island is a mess and I have a sink full of dishes. I just don't want to attack it, but I know that now is the time, since Patrick is napping. Also, it has to be done (according to me) because my Mom is coming over later and I want the house to be relatively clean when she's here.
So, to motivate myself, I'm going to finish this post and then go upstairs. I cannot get back on the computer or do anything else (except for go to the bathroom should nature call) until I get the kitchen in right order.
Am I nuts or do you do this also?My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

Okay, finished the kitchen!
I even went and Windexed the picture window in the living room while I was at it. Now I'm here, but will soon be breaking to clean up the office.

I do everything in 15 minute increments, via FLYLady's program. Works wonders for me.

Yes, I do the same thing. I wouldn't get anything done if I didn't.

I play a little game with myself. I'll look around the room that needs cleaning and I'll ask myself what 5 things I can do to make the biggest impact in the appearance of the room. For instance, if I'm in the kitchen I might say: 1) put all the dirty dishes in the sink. 2) Put all the refrigerated items in the refrigerator. 3)Take down the garbage. 4)Put all the mail in a basket. 5)Clear the counters of any other misc items.
Next I might ask myself what additional 5 , 10 or whatever number I decide needs to be done next. I might do the first 5 and then take a rest for awhile before I continue it all depends on how I feel .
