    Default Tiled Fireplace

I am thinking of tiling our fireplace. It is brick but its an ugly brick. Has anyone everdone this before?

No, I haven't. I was wondering.....is the brick something you might consider painting to see if you can make it look better before you tile it? It would be much cheaper and if you don't like it, you haven't wasted much. It seems busting the brick off would be very hard. Can you just tile over it? My fireplace isn't stone or brick, just dry wall around it and it has an antique mantle piece. I was able to change the look of it by changing the wall paper.
