Window ????

First off I'm not sure if I have the correct forum.

Our house has 2 sets of windows on the main floor. The original many panes off glass inside and then the added on storm windows that open up to show a screen.

I have lots of condensation and a bit of ice on the inside of the storm windows. Is there any way to tell which set of windows is the problem? If so a temporary fix as new windows are definately out right now

Have you tried plastic over them? I know its ugly but it will save on heat. I used to have windows like that and I know how cold they can be.

The problem is caused by the warm, humid air in the house leaking into the space between the windows. This warm, humid air hits the cold exterior window and condenses. Any solution will need to be done on the interior. You might try caulking the joints on the window frame. The is a seal and peel caulk (DAP, I think) that can be used if you want to later open the windows. If this doesn't work, try plastic placed on the interior.
