What are your Hot Spots?
Do you have rooms in your house that are particular hot spots for you? You feel like all you do is clean the same room again and again and again? Perhaps it's a room that accumulates paper clutter or clothing clutter or some other type of clutter?
For me it is the office. I feel like the desk is consistently covered. I try to clear it off everytime I am in here, but then dh comes home and opens his mail and the kids bring in projects to show us and before you know it, the desk has disappeared. No, it's not the entire room, but it is what you see when you walk in, and so the office is my clutter hot spot.
What about you? Do you have a clutter hot spot?My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

Yep! our Study, which is "Mission Control" or at the moment messy-out-of-control
But, it is a work in progress and having this one room messy keeps the rest of the house tidier.............well, in theory

Our kitchen which is the main part of our house. I've got hooks for things and baskets to corral the clutter but it still always needs the most attention.

No mud room here so the microwave gets mail, keys and assorted junk and the doorway gets their shoes. My desk is at least 30 steps from the back door. I guess they are just too exausted to dump anything there.

I have 2 main hot spots that are in certain rooms...one is a kitchen counter.......it runs the length of the kitchen and tends to be where everyone dumps their stuff.....drives me crazy!! Also the fireplace hearth.......there are days you can't even see the fireplace!

Um - my whole house? The guest room gets the stuff I need to go through. The Dining room table gets all the mail and DH's paper obsession. The dresser in our room gets all kids of things and the counter under the phone as well.

the office area, top of the microwave and the kitchen table are the worst offenders!

I would have to agree with daddys3chicks, the entire house, seemingly... The kids don't get that when they get home from school, don't just peel everything off from the front door to the kitchen... Then while there pickup after you make your snack, and once you are done eating it in front of the tv, remember to take your dish BACK to the kitchen... If you go in the bathroom and take a bath put the clothes in the basket, not on the floor next to it.. The list can go on for a long time... I would have to say that my kids are the creaters of most hot spots... Although it is hard to keep my desk area clean too... LOL

Our breakfast bar, it is the first stop once inside the house for DH, he drops the mail there, his keys, anything he has in his hands when he enters. I am constantly picking thing up off of it. I even put out some lovely baskets for him to drop things into but he can't seem to get the hang of it, grrrr
