Default Do You Do Housework on Saturday?

I know many people don't like to do housework on the weekends because they feel it is their time off. What about you? Is Saturday one of your housework days or not?

I, personally, do most of my housework on Saturdays because it's when I'm home from work, but I do try to do some after work during the week so I'm not totally bogged down. This week was great, having a few days off so I could get some of it done earlier and I won't have to spend as much time on it today.

Just curious who else is cleaning today!

I do my weekly cleaning Monday mornings and I will then do any cleaning that needs to be done during the week regardless of what day it is.

I do most of my cleaning either on one of the weekend afternoons (because everyone's home & I can delegate ) and on Monday after they are all gone back to work/school.

Although I would love to take a weekend day off, it just means all that much more I would have to do the next day

I try to do a little everyday so that I don't become overwhelmed. I travel a lot for my job so when I come home there's lots to do.

I used to never really do too much on the weekends, but lately I've been cleaning whenever I get the chance. With attending school at night and studying, I've let housework go and just clean whenever I have the energy or when it gets to the point where I think I'll go mad if I wait one more day. I don't like it, but something had to give with my new schedule and cleaning was it.

I have to do housework on the weekends, or I will regret it come Monday. There's a lot more mess when everyone is home lol

I do the majority of deep cleaning on the weekends, along with most of the laundry (sheets & towels). I only do the light stuff during the week. I'm gone Mon. - Fri. from 7 AM until 6:30 PM, so I don't feel like doing much during the week.

Unless I'm not home,I do housework everyday.Somedays I get more done than others. But Saturday is most definitely a catch up day.Sunday may be too but I try not to push too hard because Monday,5:30AM comes real soon.I won't be going to school next semester so that will free up a big chunk of time.Maybe I won't need to do so much on Sat.

I try to get it done during the week, but I do go grocery shopping on alternate Saturdays, simply because it's easier now that we are a one car family.

Saturday is more a project day and M-F are routine work days in which I cook and clean and do the routine stuff. Sundays is go to church, and rest with dh in the afternoon and evening.

I do cleaning on the weekend that I don't want toddler help with. DH can watch them for a bit while I get some things done.

    sigh!

I love weekends when DH takes the kids to a scout troop meeting and I can CATCH UP on a bit of the housework.

During the week, we homeschool. And we have kid activities. Although I'm working on getting the kids to actually DO their chores, I basically just do meals, laundry, and vacuuming during the week. Kids are supposed to dust, wipe out microwave, etc., but it takes a lot of my effort to get any progress in these areas!

DH grabs the weekend days for PROJECTS! ** Sometimes those projects are scout-related, and I can beg off. But most often, the projects are house-related. (Y'ever notice how HIS projects become YOUR projects?) They make a big mess, take a lot of time, and leave me tired after the weekend.

** I once had a neighbor who would mow the grass on Saturday morning ... and then spend the rest of the weekend in his recliner. I AM glad that DH isn't like that. [But I think he spends TOO MUCH time on the projects. And there's not much that'll slow hime down!]
