DROP O' DAWN: Just a drop of Dawn dishwashing liquid and 1/2 gallon of water (poured into a spray bottle) makes a professional-quality window and glass cleaner. At first I thought this could not work, but then I made it myself and, sure enough, it works great. I now have a bottle of window cleaner that will last for months for just pennies. --

I canot for the life of me find the article where I found this recipe for an awesome all-purpose housecleaner but I did write it down. This makes a gallon.
2 cups sudsy ammonia, 2 cups rubbing alcohol(optional, but I used the wintergreen scented) and a capful of dishsoap. Mix with water to make a gallon and put into spray bottles.
The man that posted this I don't remember where says that most commercial cleaners are made with this mixture.
I also read somewhere that it is a good idea to put floor cleaner already mixed in a spray bottle and just put rinse water in a bucket. Spray the floor where you are going to mop and then just rinse it in the bucket.
