Has anyone ever decorated using maps
I have a ton of maps from National Geographic and I'm thinking of possibly doing a wall just with maps (kinda like wallpaper).
Has anyone ever done this before? If so, how does it look.

Well I've come close.
I like to staple the maps up in the bathroom for my celebrated bathroom unit study.
Learning happens EVERYWHERE in a homeschool family. It's a no work solution.
But my maps curl and yellow after a while of being in a humid enviornment.
I think maybe if I wanted it permanent I would look into Mod Podging them onto something and then mounting them.

Like onto wallpaper. Put up the wallpaper first (a dry strippable easy to peel off type)
then paste the maps over top and then top coat them with sometyhing clear and waterproof.
Then when time is up, and I want to strip them, I would start at the top and rip them down.

I love maps. My sons used to put maps on their bedroom walls and dream of places they would travel one day. I always thought that was a great thing to do and it looks good too.

I think I saw this done on TV once. I'll do a search!

My kids' bathroom too. And they're cheap enough to change out when the moisture gets to them.
It's our main hall bathroom. I wonder what visitors think?
I also splurged on a map-of-the-world shower curtain.2012 Knitting in progress

I think it is a great idea. My Sister put the funny comics on her doors in the bathroom. She pasted them up and then covered the door with a coat of clear polyurthane ( forgive the spelling here) It added a nice touch of color and attitude to the room as well as being a conversation starter. I think the maps would look great and be a bit more elegant than comics. Go for it and post photos if you can

Well, I laminate maps all the time. You could always frame the maps. I plan on framing a couple maps for down in my basement.

Not all over a wall but my inlaws and their kids all have at least 2 maps in their homes under some clear frame. Usually one is located at the kitchen table where many discussions take place. Mil & Fil have also put one under glass on their coffee table. They are great for decorating & learning.
