Question Do you put your dried dishes away right away....

Or take them out of the dishwasher/dishrack as you need them?

I usually try to dry them right after washing them and put them away right away. There are times though I'll let them dry in the dishrack and leave them there until I need them.

Sometimes they get put right away, sometimes they don't. They always get put away from the dishwasher, but not necessarily right when they are done. However, DH (in charge of getting dishes washed) NEVER empties the drainer all the way. I swear there is stuff still in there from when DD was an infant.

Sometimes I put them away right away (esp. if there's another load to do!). Other times I leave them there.

More often than not, they stay in the rack until they are used. I discovered when I tried to put ALL my dishes away that I had too many for my cabinet!!! Obviously time to thin them out.

We usually run the dishwasher at night while we are sleeping, but the dishes do get put away in the morning when I get up

We dont use the dishwasher everyday. Most of the time, dishes are handwashed. When we do use the dishwasher,I run it at night and put them away the next morning.

Handwashed are dried if more room is needed in the rack,if not, they air dry, then get put away.
Except pots and pans, and especially the cast iron, are dried right away and put up.

If I have the time, yes. Otherwise, as soon as possible.

I put them away. I found the family would help me much better by putting dirty dishes into the dishwasher if they knew I wasn't shrieking, OH NO THAT WAS CLEAN.

For me even though the kids have left home, and it's just dh and me, I still prefer to run that thing nightly full or not, and as a matter of routine in the morning, empty it and put them away while making breakfast.

It's a no brainer habit and it keeps my life simpler.

I don't use the dry cycle I believe it dries the glass out making it brittle. So I run the dishwasher and leave it for awhile until they drip dry. I then put them all away.

I don't usually put them away right away but I never leave them there until I need them. I noticed in some of the hotels I stay in housekeeping does not empty the dishwasher, they put the dirty dishes in with the clean dishes and wash the clean dishes again. They continually do this which seems a bit odd to me, but I guess it saves them time.
