Default How do you Clean Your Floors?

Do you get down on your hands and knees, use a sponge mop, use an old-fashioned type of mop (Can't think of what it's called...the kind that has all the string things that make up the mop), or a Swiffer type floor cleaner?

Right now, I'm just using a Swiffer wet cloth, but with the new foyer tile, I'm thinking that I might need to move on to something different...not really sure.

I'd love to hear what you guys use.

I use the hoover floor mate, it does an amazing job (our 1st floor is all hard with cermanic tile and wood) and it is easy and works really well.

I use a Swiffer as well. However, once a month I do get on hands and knees with bucket and sponge and go to town

This is pretty much what I do. I dry sweep whatever I can every day and every once in a while use a sponge & bucket to really scrub the floor. I've never found a mop that I liked or that worked the way it was supposed to.

I use a bounty paper towel, damp when it's on it's last legs -- I reach down with it and kind of scoop up any fuzz or bits that landed in the corners or any coffee pot dribbles. That is my day to day method.

for weekly jobs a swiffer with a bounty stuck in the holes. dampen the floor with a light spritz of spray cleaner on any stuck on bits and kind of swiff it up. Toss bounty when done.

For BIG cleaning I put a facecloth in my swiffer with or without a square of nylon netting for super scrubbing and do much the same.

Rinsing under the tap without taking anything off the swiffer, just aim the tap at the bounty towel or facecloth and let it clean off the gunk and back down on the floor for more.

For waxing, hit the clean floor with a squirt of Future and spread it around like butter on toast, using a bounty or two (doubled up works nicely for this) slightly dampened stuck in the swiffer, and toss when done.

For a quick vacuuming without the big vac I love that little swiffer vacuum I bought. It's like an old electric broom but it has that little swiffer dustcloth head that picks stuff up so nicely.

I do NOT like to bend down (too fat)!

and I HATE the ole knees thing plus I cant' get up as easy.

And for the bits I may have missed I console myself that I'll get em next time.

Well, I just got through doing all my floors so here goes
For my carpets I totally vacuum them 2 times a week
In between I use the new swifer carpet sweeper ( I love it and got it with a coupon)
For my linoleum I first vacuum it with the crevice tool of the vacuum cleaner then I mop it 2 times a week with mr. clean
In between I use a swifter.
I also keep a bottle of stain remover for the carpet and find myself constantly using it. The new super strength by woolite is great stuff.

I've been wondering about that new carpet flick thing by Swiffer.

I didn't like the wet jet, I ended up giving it away but the Swiffer Sweep and Vac is wonderful and I love my original Swiffer.

A lot of thought goes into their products and I like them.

I think the wet jet would have been fine IF you could easily refill with your own cheap solution and if it would have been easier to just poke a terry towel facecloth on the mop head instead of that disposable diaper thingy that attaches to it.

I'm kind of listening to how other people are liking the carpet flick. So that is one in favour.

Walmart has them on sale this week.
