Do you dust first or vacuum first?
I am never sure which way it should be. I have been vacuuming first then dusting. I feel if I dust first then vacuum lint might float onto my furniture. Then again if I dust last dust might float onto the floor. I honestly am not sure which is best.

I dust with dusting spray so I assume the dust doesn't float away. So, I always vacuum first.

I dust then vacuum, although Tiffany makes a great point, considering I also use dusting spray.

I have found it doesn't matter which I do first. This house is so dusty...I can dust a surface and before I'm finished with the rest of the room, it's dusty again.
But usually, I dust first then vacuum last.

Are you supposed to do them both in the same day?
When I do I usually dust first as the dust goes flying & needs to be gobbled by the

well I dust first, but sometimes I dust then run out of steam or inclination and it takes a day or so before I vacuum.
I don't worry too hard. I figure the vacuum picks up the dust that I dump on the floor and new dust will soon settle anyway. If I vacuum then dust, chances are the dust hasn't had a chance to settle yet.
But if I really think about it, that dust gets picked up the next time I dust, before the vacuuming
so either way, the dust is laid to rest, and the vacuum sucks up the remainders.
I do use a Hepa filter vacuum from Sears that I love. It's pretty good about the exhaust port not having much dust blow out the back end.
I used to have an in house vacuum, that exhausted to the outside and that really was nice.
