5. In what way is this item making my life more purposeful or better?
If the items are not making you happier, healthier, or better, they are just taking up space and cluttering up your life. Removing these stacks and boxes of stuff will free up your home and your space.
Number 5 is the one I need to focus on right now. Thanks for the link Amy.

Thats a good article, thanks for posting it. Ive been getting it finally after years of being not so good at getting rid of things.
Its not always so easy, but its grown on me and feels quite liberating to let go of things I dont need or want.

I spotted this thread tonight while I was surfing -- after a productive day of sorting and loading up my car with donations for a friend's garage sale. Most of the decisions were easy, but two or three were hard to let go. These were several "useful" things I got, one quite recently, that I find I don't use at all. I made myself look at each one, say firmly "ok, this was a mistake - it is only taking up space" and then send it out to find a new home.
I had an A+ de-clutter day. How good it feels!Donna
