    Question Pergo Floors? Cleaning?

    Hi,

I am having a bit of a hard time cleaning my floors. They are Pergo and I read that water with a cup of vinegar would work. Well they do not look good at all.
Is there anything I can use to clean them?
I tried wood cleaner but that did not work either.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Kiara

Kiara, I have laminate flooring (wood laminate) and I was using vinegar and water to clean mine but then I read not to...that the vinegar would eat the sealant off of it. I quit and have been just using plain water. Sometimes if it's really dirty I'll use a squirt bottle with some Mr. Clean watered waaaaayyy down on the spot that needs the help. But I find I have rinse it a couple of times to get it really clean. Hope this helps.

I have heard that tea works well to clean any kind of wooden floor. We have real wood floors and I have yet to try it.The only thing to remeber with any kind of wood floor be it laminate or real wood is to use as little water as possible, the water will seep in between the gaps in the floor no matter how little and ruin the floor.Hope this helps

Thank you so much for replying!
Funny, it never occured to me to just use water.
    I will try that!

I do have some pesky little ants on the house so I am kinda worried to use tea. I worked hard on keeping them away.

It makes sense to use less water. I am so used to just having carpets that I just need to learn these things!

    Thanks for the tips!
    I will try them.

There is actually a Pergo-brand cleaner. It can be found at Home Depot and Lowes and comes in a spray bottle. My husband insists that we use it.

miss t., Pergo is a brand of laminate flooring. It isn't wood- it is a wood replacement product.
