Default White spots on antique table

Help! I left a wet towel on an dark wood antique table that my great aunt gave me. Now it has a white haze on it and it doesnt come off. I tried using Old English for dark wood to see if it would cover the mark but it just dulled it a bit but it is still very large and very visible. Any suggestions? I hope I didn't ruin it for good. It means a lot to me.

I don't know a lot about nice furniture, but how about Wood Wax?? Or how about the products they use on wood floors to fill in scratches??

Maybe, you could visit a web site for antique furniture and they may have suggestions??

    Good Luck,

Try rubbing alittle mayo on it. The oils in the mayo will help to offset the dampness aka water thats gotten into the grain of the wood. That moisture is the white your seeing under the wax on the table. Try rubbing the mayo in and letting it sit for about 15 minutes the remove it with a paper towel. Apply it with either an old hunk of towel or an old washcloth.

If the mayo doesn't work try baking soda mixed with a little white toothpaste. Rub it in and then follow with the old english polish.

I agree with the above 100%! I just did this to get marks off an antique smoking table.
