    Unhappy How to keep up?

I haven't been feeling all that great lately, and with all of the Dr. appts. and work I can't seem to keep up. How do you all do it? Any ideas?

    I usually don't.

I prioritize what absolutely needs to be done for that day, night, etc. and get that done, knowing that anything else will be a bonus for me. And, I've learned to let some things go that aren't an absolute necessity so I can be sure to spend some time with my son each day.

Ugh Julie...if you could only see my house right now. It's in dire need of some attention. I don't always keep up and I usually feel as if I'm just doing enough to get by. I wish I could actually be as organized on the outside as I feel I am on the inside... Hang in there Julie, remember that noone ever dies after a long happy life saying they wish they'd done more housework.

Cut yourself some slack Julie, you are doing the best you can and need to take time to take care of you. Housework can wait ~ you are the #1 priority.
In this house things are not super clean, just nicely picked up. If someone were to stop by unexpectedly I'd run to clean the bathroom and dim the lights in the rest of the house, lol.
It's not perfect but then again they are here to see me & mine, not my house.

I don't bother either. I just do what is absolutely essential (wash the one plate or one fork), and get to the rest when I have more energy and strength. I do some things to help out a little. My main chore that we let slide is washing the dishes. DH and I are both in school, so when all our energy is spent cooking a meal to avoid eating out, the least we can manage is to soak the dishes so cleanup is a little bit easy.

There have also been times when I would take a quick nap to get a bit energized and then (as per flylady's directions) set the timer for 5 mins (15 can be a bit long sometimes ).

Another trick I do is visit websites with pictures of rooms that inspire me, I like apartmenttherapy.com Then I feel like doing a little bit more.

When I am completely exhausted and the weather is hot and muggy like yesterday, I squeeze a lemon and make some ice cold lemonade.
