What a mess

I had to clean my dds car for college. Her dad(my ex) said you buy her the laptop and I will buy her car...sorta..he gave her his wifes old car that he had used for his fencing business. Deposited it at my door and my dd was horrified. I fork out $1500 for her puter and he gives her a "free" filty car that had to be worked on. (luckily my dh is the parts sales manager at the local chevy dealership and called in a favor from service so it was free! The 2 back tires went flat too ...we fixed them...too.)

But anyhoo, that thing was awful so my dh and I wash it, do the tires, and then I go to look inside and I was disgusted! I went to my dd and said that the car was awful(she got her license this past Tuesday but didn't want to drive the car. I had no idea it was so bad)and told dd lets run to walmart and get cleaner for the carpet, seat covers and new floor mats.She also asked for a steering wheel cover and an air freshener.

I also got her a big $30ish plastic drawer cart for college(she leaves the 19th).get back and clean it up. She had to be at a party so we didn't have time ti vacuum and do the carpets ofr get all the COKE off the ceiling!

It looks and smells tons better and when I asked her if she thought it was better she said it sure was!

She then drove on her own for the first time to her friends house. I did cry a little. My baby! 18,leaving for college 8 hours away, and driving!

Aaawww Cricketlegs, I know how you feel I'm sure the car will serve her well enough and you'll get used to her being that far away. Thank goodness for the internet and cell phones! (my youngest dd lives 3 hours away but has recently been to China) I found the 'roots' part of the "Roots and Wings" deal much easier But, it does get easier as time goes on.
