    Default what don't you do?

A lot of our discussions state our daily homekeeping tasks, but how about things we don't do? This might show how we've simplified and manage our time.

As an example, many days I don't blow dry my hair, make fancy meals, or run countless errands.

I don't run the dishwasher every day-- I wait until it's full.

I don't wash our shower/bath towels every day- we use them a couple of times before washing.

I don't save all the laundry to be washed one day a week like I used to-- I've found it's much easier on me if I do a load every day or two.

I don't run into town every day- I try to keep my errands down to one day a week if I can.

I don't wear makeup unless it's a special ocassion (and even then, it was close to free to begin with lol)..... I don't fix my hair (no hair products or blow drying! yeah!)..... I don't shave every single day - seriously, I save so much water that way!
I wait until I have full loads of laundry to do it....same with dishes.... I don't wash our clothes on hot. Only the cloth diapers get a hot cycle!

I don't cook fancy meals that require exotic ingredients! Everything we cook comes directly from what I got on sale/have stockpiled.
I don't buy name brand things unless they happen to go on sale cheaper than off-brand....

I don't run the dishwasher unless it's full.

I don't run errands unless I can get several of them batched together so I can save gas.

I don't eat out/order out or eat in the cafeteria at work (I work in a hospital)...I take my lunch and snacks, sodas, etc every day.

I don't drive my car every day to work, I try to ride my motorcycle as often as possible to save gas.

We use our bath towels 2-3 days before I wash them.

I never blow dry my hair...it's wavy so it would be a frizz ball if I did.

As a general rule, I don't do any housework except folding/hanging clothes and cooking a couple of nights a week. Because of my medical, my family has made life as easy for me as possible. DS cooks the majority of the meals by his own choice. My husband does a couple of loads of laundry everyday before and after he gets off work. He does all of the ironing, he says I do it too slow. The kids do a few loads of laundry here and there when he asks them to. He also cleans the bathrooms one day a week before he goes to work. The kids have a list of chores they do on a daily basis, a list of ones done on a weekly basis and a monthly basis.

I don't blow dry my hair.
    I don't make a fancy meal everyday.
I don't wash the bath towels after the firsy use....DH and I will use the same towel. He hangs it to dry and then I use it too.
I don't wash my work clothes immediately after wearing them. I come home, change, and hang them up unless I have something on them. The next time I wear them, I will wash them.

For make up, I only wear mascara and lipgloss. I do laundry about 2-3 times/week. I don't cook everyday, but I'm great at "assembling" meals (putting together lots of little things). I wear clothes for a few days in a row (unless I'm working). I don't answer the phone on some days--this, alone, saves me so much time. I like hearing from friends, but I don't need to talk to most of them on a daily basis!

i don't wear makeup unless it's for something fancy. i don't blow dry my hair most days unless i have to go somewhere important.
laundry never ends, but i only do full loads. dishwasher gets run only once it's full. i try to group errands to teh day i don't have to babysit my neice just so i can get them all done in one day. grocery shopping with a 5 month old is not fun especailly when she's not yours and used to doing things like that.
not a daily thing but weekly, i look at coupon preview sites to see what coupons are out before i buy a paper. if i won't use most of them, i won't buy a paper on sunday. i buy 2 different papers so on weeks i dont buy, it saves $3.15. not a lot most of the time, but that adds up with other things to save more. i don't mop everyday, but try to clean up spills with the dishrag when they happen. saves me time more than money.
