    Default Moving boxes?

I'm moving in a few weeks and haven't made it very far in moving box collection. Growing up we always requested boxes from various stores when we moved. So far I've snagged a few that were thrown out in my dept., but I need to get many more. What are the best stores or other places to request these from? Ideally I'd like to go one place and get all I need if there's a place that gets rid of tons.

Just helped my 2 kids move & all of our boxes came from various liquor stores. They are nice & sturdy & many come with dividers that you can take out or use to pad things. Just need to be sure that you get the ones with tops still attached so you can close them up and stack.

We actually go to the cardboard recycling bins that our city has when we need boxes!

Was going to say liquor stores too. Bookstores have sturdy boxes. Also check craigslist, our area has lots of free boxes almost every day.

Have you tried freecycle yet? People are always asking for/giving them away on ours.

Check the area behing strip malls or grocery stores - they often put them out for people to pick up. Also, I've hit WalMart at stocking time (4:00 am) and asked for boxes they were unloading onto the shelves, and they've always said "Sure!". My current favorites are xerox paper boxes, which you may be able to get from an office supply store or from various offices.

At our office we have tons of the photo-copy paper boxes & I have snagged them for moving or when DD was moving. If you know someone who works in a large office, cannot hurt to ask.

I'm moving in a couple weeks, too. My major box supply is coming from the local liquor store and the grocery store. I go to the produce department and ask specifically for apple boxes; they're nice and big and very sturdy.

I say try your local freecycle, most have the boxes, bubble wrap and all the fun moving needs.

We are in the process of moving as we speak, and I got my boxes off of craigslist for free. Lots and lots of all sizes and packing material too.

You could try big stores - I know Meijers stocks their shelves at midnight, when ever I need boxes I go there at that time and gather all I need up.

I would recommend going around to the new neighborhood construction that's what we did last year when we moved. there are some great sturdy boxes from fridges, tv's, toilets etc...some are odd shapes, but they are really heavy duty.

I used to go to the copy centre at Staples or Kinko's and ask them as well as the library for their paper boxes b/c theyre very sturdy and with handles/lid. Also the liquor store and grocery stores.
