    Default question...

What do you use for cleaning your tub? I have such trouble getting it clean and so far the only thing I've found that works even semi-well at getting the soapscum off and getting it clean is Tilex. The prob with Tilex is the smell!! I can't stand breathing that stuff in, especially being pregnant! Do you guys have any suggestions on what works well that's not as smelly... or maybe even something I can make at home?
    Thanks

I have used sos pads...they work great, but try not to scrub too hard, if you're not careful, you could scratch the finish.

I love the Scrubbing Bubbles stuff! I spray it on...let it sit while I'm cleaning the vanity or toliet and then when I go back to the tub..the soap scum just wipes right off.

    baking soda and lemons -

We used it as a homeschool lesson in chemical reactions for the kids and now they clean the tub 1-2 times a week. Just sprinkle a good amount of baking soda in the tub. Take a lemon or two and roll them around on a countertop while putting pressure on them to loosen up the juices. Cut the lemon in half over the tub (so you get all of the lemon juice in the tub)and squeeze the juices over the baking soda. It will bubble and fizz up. Then use the lemon halves to scrub the tub instead of a cloth or sponge.

Adding some vinegar to it helps with tough spots. However, lemon naturally breaks down hard water deposits and soap scum so it may be all that is needed.

I use baking soda and lemons too. I stopped using all the harsh cleaners when I was pregnant with my son. Baking soda, lemons, and vinegar can clean almost anything, and they're safe for kids and the environment.

I use scrubbing bubbles, spray it on, let it set for about 2-3 minutes while I clean something else and then wipe it down, rinse, ta da. Using things like tylex and other things that have that acid in them actually etch your finish, thus making it even harder to ever get clean again.

Scrubbing Bubbles here too! I also use the Scrubbing Bubbles automatic cleaner daily. It does a decent job, but there are a couple of spots it doesn't reach.

When I'm being lazy I use "The Works", but baking soda and lemons works almost as quickly and I DO like that smell!

Thank you all for the advice. For those who use the baking soda and lemon... how do you get the walls and sides of the tub?
I think I'll post another thread to see what people use for the toilet... I hate using the toilet bowl cleaner.. so harsh! and I'd rather have more gentle products in the house.. especially with little ones.

We scrub the sides of the tub with the lemon as well.

Does the bottles of pure lemon juice work just as good?
