    Talking Clutter Control, Tues. 7/31

Who's up for a little cleaning?

We'll start by doing a quick sweep with the small bag, pick up all garbage, and throw it out! Then, get a laundry basket, go through the house and throw everything in it that belongs elsewhere. Take these items to their proper place.

Let's clean out our purses today as well! Get rid of old tissues, receipts, etc. Organize it and make it look neat!

I'm backed up...I went upstairs to put away laundry only to find my boys' room to be a DISASTER! So I spent a lot of time up there.

Today I WILL get to my bathroom rugs, finish the laundry, dust my ceiling fans and clean out my purse! Dang it!!

Good thing, I did get rid of THREE LEAF BAGS full of toys, stuffed animals and general junk from their toy room.

I got a small bag of garbage. I had to do some searching for things which I guess is a good thing.

I did laundry basket thing in living room, my room, bathroom, and kitchen. About half a basket full. By time I was in last room it was empty!

I cleaned my 2 purses, and wallets. Also cleaned out sample box and put in room that they would be used in and sorted coupon bag for expired coupons.

I also cleaned under sink and bathroom cabinet and under sink. Trying to catch up on past challanges.

I have been slacking on the last challanges. The bathroom cleaning is a big job and linen closet and my closet are catch alls. Those are the main jobs I cannot do quickly! I have 5 ceiling fans I need to get to today!

    Thanks for the motivation ladies!

I'm ahead of you! My purse is about the ONLY thing that is (almost) always clean and uncluttered!

For the rest, a laundry basket won't cut it. I'm in the middle of huge, major black belt declutter and "downsizing." Yesterday I set aside for an organization that helps homeless families get reestablished (I had them pick up big furniture type stuff last month:

    A big rice cooker
A quesadilla maker (what was I thinking?)
A keyboard, stand, and headphones (should make some kid very happy!)
    A folding computer table
    Books
    Walkman
    Cell phone
    Set of pyrex mixing bowls

A utility cart I'm giving to one of the apartment maintenance guys. He's helped me, and I figured I couldn't get it in the car to haul to the other folks.

And so far, two big trash bags. I've barely started that part of the operation.

More to come. I am being brutal. Minimalism sounds better every day. I will actually have empty drawers and empty space on shelves!

Did a good job of cleaning yesterday and Saturday. Changed purses a few days ago. Have to go clean my dad's apt. tomorrow though. I'll catch up with y'all there, I'm sure. Men who live alone really are slobs.

oh... the dreaded purse!! I was just thinking I was trying to find a receipt in the black hole last night that we needed to do a challenge for purses!!! lol...
Ok.. so I have to finish the challenge from yesterday - it's hard with the bathroom right next to the little one's room. Then onto cleaning out the blackhole, laundry and going through and getting garbage. I also need to clean the kitchen today, pick up and vacuum livingroom.

Everyone is doing a great job, do I need to make it harder? Basically I just like to take little steps each day, then it doesn't seem as overwhelming!

You probably don't need to make it harder. Anyone who gets inspired to do more can always add onto it like they're already doing.

Did some purse cleaning, and threw away a few eyesore clutter items. I was in a bad mood, but getting rid of those perked me up.

~Whew! My purses took 3 minutes because I switch them almost every week to match my outfits and I clean them out then. Then I cleaned and organized the bathroom closet shelves and threw away 5 empty bottles(why was I saving them???), a pair of foam shower shoes and the plastic overwrap from a 20 pack of tp. It looks nice in there and it only took 10 minutes! I also purged another grocery bag of toys. Some went in the trash(a moldy bath toy-ewww! and torn up lift the flap books) and some went into a freecycle box. I also decided to purge an old VCR and DVD player that we're not using. Yesterday I reorganized all of the kids educational materials into a hand-me-down hutch I got free this week. LOTS of sorting and purging going on here! And yet I STILL haven't wiped down the inside of the fridge!~
