    Smile Clutter Control Fri., 8/10

Today let's take a look at our entry way, porches, and the room you enter into the house with. Make sure all clutter is picked up and put away. All garbage taken out. Swept, and cobwebs cleaned. If yours is good, move to the laundry room, and start cleaning the washer and dryer! You know how dusty and dirty they get! Report back later!

Front room and back hall are already clean! However the washer and dryer are in the dreaded old icky basement. Ugh. I put off going down there to when I really need to do laundry! So I think I will put this off until a load needs to be done!

I have an easy day daycare wise..so I think I will
    -vacuum house and car out
    -clean fridge out/wipe down
-clean all my bedroom drawers out
-Take a look under my bed. Clean and vacuum it.
    -Finish hooking up computer upstairs
-cook some side dishes and desserts for week ahead(before grocery shopping)

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Entryway and door were cleaned off yesterday. My back porch....let's say that would take HOURS and I don't have time today.

I have a list of cleaning / organizing to do in the next week in preparation for dd's first birthday so I will probably not get to this. I need to concentrate on the things that people might see first - like the one shelf of the bookcase in the livingroom. After next SUnday I will be back on the declutter train!!

How do you go about cleaning your washer and dryer? The fabric softener dispenser is in such a state, thick with residue.

OOh. I am on it! My front hall has a lot of shoes kicking around there right now.

To clean my fabric softener dispenser I take out the main goop and then stick the dispenser cup in the dishwasher. I recently switched from fabric softener to using vinegar, baking soda and water (with a little essential oil) and it doesn't seem to have as much of a goop problem as before. Plus, it's earth friendly & cheaper!

I take the dispenser off and soak it in the kitchen sink filled with hot water. Of course you will have to rinse it several times during the soak, but it should come clean in no time.

As for my entry way, it is pretty straight, so I will wipe down the washer and drier and get all of the dust bunnies from the area.

Each time I do a load of towels, I grab a darkish one and wet it from the water thats filling the washer and wipe down the washer & dryer. They dont look brand spanking new but you know what? they're also 10 & 15 yrs old each they look pretty good for surviving as long as they have!

My fronthall/entrance way - no room for anything in there except for the people coming in and out of the door so its pretty much done. Because the floor tile is white - we clean up asap b/c anything shows right away.

    Yea! Im done for today!

I'll take on both tasks -- but I will leave the porch area for tomorrow (since it's 8 p.m. now) and the washer/dryer for the next time I do a load of laundry! (aka tomorrow)

Tonight I will wipe down my front door, line up the shoes, put away the big, thin box with the free lemonade stand in it, and do a quick swiffer of the floor!
