Dh is home - strike
Does anyone else have this problem? That they can't get as much done when their dh is home? With him home on strike it has totally messed up my whole schedule, plus he's been kinda mopey around here and it rubs off on everyone else. I told him the other day to go to the union hall because he was driving me nuts!! lol. He's just concerned with this whole strike and providing for his family. I don't blame him there, but this may take a while to get resolved and I can't deal with his mopiness for weeks - and they haven't even been on strike for a full week yet.
I have a lot to get done before next Sunday (dd's first bday) so thank goodness he will be at the union hall from 8 pm to 4 am the next two days. It will give me some peace and quiet time to get things done!!!

Oh yes, having hubby underfoot throws my whole day out of wack. I love the man dearly but when he takes time off he's always underfoot, in the fridge, in the WAY

Best of luck getting ready for the party and hope the strike ends soon!

Yes, when my husband is home. My whole routine is worthless. When we lived in NY it was like work a week and then no work, and then unemployment for a week. And in between my old work would want me. So he was moody, and crabby. I just don't know but I think men sometimes run on one track.
I just usually do the real work, when he is finally occupied and say what the heck to the rest. It won't last a life time.. I hope they go off strike soon for you.

I find it impossible to get anything done with dh home. Same with the kids, only not so much. When the kids & dh are home...forget it. It's like I have 5 kids, not 4

Lisette,
sounds like it may be time to put together a "Honey Do" List.......Guys like to be needed so come up with some items he could do for you.
Examples: yardwork, garage, change light bulbs up high, move heavy things around for you.......you get the idea. You may find that he will come up with a few things on his own.
Good Luck,
leezza

You know my mom told me an old saying from when she first got married 55 years ago:
"I married you for love, not for lunch"
In short, don't come home in the middle of the day you SCREW up my routine! LOL
I think this fits here too.

LOL, I love that!"I married you for love, not for lunch"
My hubby used to work right here in our small town and would come home for lunch every day. It was only half an hour, but it totally messed me up. Now that he drives truck, he's gone for 2.5-3 weeks at a time, then home for 2-4 days. I tell y'all, he makes bigger messes than the kids and dogs combined! It takes a week just to recover after he leaves.
I hope the strike ends soon and you can get back to normal.

This makes me laugh too hard!!!
Its so true, when you have a routine that finally works - why does something always come and muck it up? When I get in a serious cleaning mood - look out! Sad thing is I tend to pick up and tidy more when he's over here vs when Im left alone at home with my 'to do' list
and I havent a clue why!!! So yes, he does get in my way sometime LOL.
I hope the strike ends and you can regain your sanity and routine

So often I really feel like the odd man out. But, I love it when my DH is home. He is a big help and I enjoy his company.

My DH is a working lead person and part of his job is to cover vacations. He worked 2nd shift last week and 3rd shift part of this week. Thursday he took an earned day and now today is working just to get a few things done in the shop. That coupled with DD#1 who works 3rd shift, DD#2 who is on maternity leave, the new grandson, and his father who works days, my house is a zoo. My schedule is way off and my housework is getting done willy nilly.
My DH is a teamster and they are just starting to negotiate their contract. I will pray for your strike to end soon. STRIKE is my worse nightmare at this point. My DH will just make me crazy too.
