    Smile Clutter Control Tues., 8/14

Today is run around with a bag day. Get all of the clutter you can get rid of. Then get a laundry basket, collect everything that belongs elsewhere into it and put away. Don't forget to check your hot spots to see what they look like.

~My in-laws are making decluttering so hard! They're cleaning out their home of 28 years to move south and we're getting all kinds of stuff. Monday night they came over with 3 lawn trash bags of stuffed animals and 8 boxes of linens and curtains they'd been storing in the attic. I chose out one set of curtains and 3 stuffed animals and hauled the rest away. Last night we received 2 seabags of DH's Navy uniforms to sort and toss. I kept asking myself why anyone would bother storing stuffed animals, curtains and uniforms for years. And this is just the beginning; the tip of the iceberg! I think that's why it's so important that we all keep up with decluttering. Half of the linens were destroyed by age and water damage. If they'd just been given away years ago when they were no longer needed someone else could have enjoyed them. It's such a waste. But anyway, it just seems like I make 1 step forward to having an organized home and then 3 steps backward as I'm bombarded with all kinds of stuff. Ugh. Just talking about it gives me an urge to purge!~

Awww, I know how that is. Everyone seems to drop off their clutter here also. Although, I do like it most of the time.
