Do you have a cleaning Schedule
My mother is very organized about cleaning the house. Something that never rubbed off on me. She has a schedule that she said she has followed since she was married. Aside from the everyday things, like laundry, vacuming, making beds and wiping down the kitchen and bath, she has a set schedule for washing floors, dusting, etc. Her house is always spotless. I wish I had organization for that. More it's like the time. My schedule is more like if it looks dirty dusty or messy I clean it. Which isnt really a system and sometimes things get let go.

My method is very much like yours. When it's dirty, I clean it. I don't do well with set cleaning schedules anymore than I do well with set menus.
I would feel so far behind if something came up & I wasn't able to get to Monday's chores until Tuesday & then had to do Tuesdays on top of it.
No thank you

I wish I did. We just clean whenever we can. I always love to have company, that is when we clean the most and the house always looks so great.

i am slowly starting to schedule my house cleaning and it has helped in the areas that i have organized.
I wipe down the bathroom sinks, mirror and toilet every 2-3 days. This alone helps me so much. Never a chance for any buildup of dirt or items laying around. I do the shower and floor weekly knowing i don't have to deal with the other things that day (this makes the tasks easier for me).
I recently washed some of the kitchen cabinets and gave the stove a good cleaning. So i now try to wipe down the stove every 2-3 days as well -obvious spills are cleaned as soon as it is cool enough.
I am trying to get into the habit of vacuuming and dusting the dining room every week as our coffee machine and daily use of the room keeps things rather untidy and a significant dust magnet.
The guest room gets cleaned before guests arrive as it is seldom used.
The living room gets done after it is long needed.... it is my hope to get this under control soon.
The bedroom and basement are low on the list right now.... eventually when the other "public" rooms are habitually maintained my focus will shift to them.
I must say though, it has taken me years to finally get this organization started and continued... it does make the day to day easier and that is the reward. I am hoping to develop the discipline needed to keep the system for extended periods.... like the rest of my life.. LOLThe Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

I just clean when its dirty. I've tried schedules int he past, but things come up and then I get behind. I try to pick things up, sweep and do dishes every day, but other than that it gets done when I get time. And if compnay comes, it gets a thorough cleaning.

I couldn't do one of those schedules where you do a specific thing each day, but I've recently put together a flexible weekly one. It's just me and an apartment, but it's still hard to get myself to clean. Here's the schedule:
Laundry is usually on weekends (towels one day, clothes another).
Sometime during the week I do the following five things (I pick which of the seven days each week I do them, depending on my schedule and mood):
Dust and sweep
Light bathroom cleaning
Wash dishes and do light kitchen cleaning
Gather and throw out recyclables
Light maintenance cleaning of fish tank (every two weeks)
Any other jobs are done on "off" days.

No schedule here, if someone wants things done quicker than I get to them well they can feel free to start without me.
It never gets really bad around here, just a bit messy sometimes (papers, etc)
MIL used to have something for everyday of the week. Only one I really remember is Monday is major laundry/sheets day.~*Darlene*~

I've tried to in the past, but it just didn't work. Now that I'm home all the time I just clean something everyday. Right now I need to vacuum and mop. That usually gets done twice a week, I'm obsessed with floors.
Apparently I'm the only one in the house that can do anything, I had a migraine on Sat. so I was lying down. On Sun. I woke up to a huge mess!

Sort of...I'm anal that way! Lately I've not been doing it because we moved and our new house needs some remodeling so things have been a mess. I put myself on a rotating schedule and tweek it as the week porogresses becuase someimes things come up and you can't do what you planned to do. I set aside 3 days for cleaning (one day for each level), one day for yard work in the spring, summer and fall (I take the winter off) one day to do a deep cleaning/organizing project, and one day to do errands. I try to take one day to do stuff just for me (as a reward to myself) like read or just be lazy, but it usually ends up being a catch-up day. I wash two loads of laundry every day and pick up the house/wipe down bathrooms daily. My house stays pretty clean, unless I get sick and fall behind. That's no fun!

I've tried many times. I LOVE FlyLady and have tried to 'get with the program' but life gets in the way. Like Yankeemom and many have said, once you get off track you have a boatload of stuff to do in one day. My house is fairly clean (kids are grown now) but I just do wwhat I can, when I can.
I vacuum a lot because we have a yellow Lab and dk. green carpets.

I have to fit my own house in there.

No schedule for the ravenmaniac. During football season Sundays are laundry and cooking/baking days, I have a tv in the kitchen. Bathrooms, bedrooms, family room, and kitchen are cleaned fairly well once a week as with all the flooring. The rest of the time it is clean it if it's dirty. I would drive myself crazy trying to follow a schedule. Sometimes things have to wait and it starts to bug me. My mom will tell me not to worry, am I afraid someone is going to clean it for me? It will still be there waiting for me to do it.
