So here's the decluttering plan
Tell me what you think. I have a Goodwill dropoff right on my way to work, and right next to the Winn Dixie where I sometimes shop. I'm thinking that every work day, and every time I shop at WD, I'll take at least one, probably two, things and drop them off. That means in 1 month, I'll be at least 30 things lighter.
I'm also going to put the larger things out in the front yard with "free" or a price on them on days when rain is not predicted and I know I'll be home. We sold a lawnmower that way once.
Yes, I'd love to have a yard sale, but that isn't going to happen. I just need to get rid of this junk. Most of it was free anyway, from other people, so I don't feel bad at all about giving it away.
Whadya think?

I think that's a great way to declutter. I used to save stuff up for a yard sale, but found that it would get overwhelming. Then I'd have a sale and miss half the stuff because it was hiding behind the other stuff.
After I got settled in the house here, I went through each room, decluttering, organizing and getting rid of anything I didn't want to use or display. Instead of saving for a yard sale or a big run to the Salvation Army (way out of my way), I offered 5 items every day on freecycle. It required basically no effort on my part, and made a huge impact on my space in a very short period of time. It only took a few weeks to run out of clutter.

I did that for the past week! I had some items such as a dresser, tv and entertainment center that I posted on Freecycle and now they are gone, I've also put things out front with a FREE sign on them and they are gone too! I love decluttering.

I also think that is a great way to declutter. Since the GW is not out of your way, you aren't wasting time and gas. Makes perfect sense to me!

I gave so much stuff to Goodwill last year, and it really made a difference. The clutter has really decreased. And a few months ago, dh and I were going for a drive, and drove by a night stand in someone's driveway with a "free" sign on it - EXACTLY what I had been looking for!! It fit the spare bedroom that we had just renovated, had deep drawers that I wanted, and no cost to us!! We were so happy with this night stand, and I bet a lot of people are going to be happy with stuff that you leave out as well!

Good plan. I also have a rule, if I buy anything and bring it into the house, well, then I need to find something to get rid of. Sort of maintain equilibrium. I have some boxes full in my garage now I will either freecyle or give away. It is amazing how much stuff we all have!
