Fall Fling!

~I am just SICK of all of the 'stuff' we have crammed into our small ranch house and our shed. Even with DAILY decluttering I'm not getting ahead. So I decided to aim high and plan to purge 1000 items from my home. I'm giving myself all of Fall to do this(until Dec. 21, isn't that Winter Solstice?). BUT I'm rewarding myself with a pedicure when I reach 1000 so it might be done alot sooner. Anyone want to join me? What's your Fall Fling number?~

I'm in for at least 1000 items! Great idea! We filled up TWO dumpsters when we moved, but STILL brought too much stuff with us!!!

I just don't know what to do with all this stuff, except sell some, donate some. I need to get organized. On Friday an extra refrigerator (left by previous owner) is getting picked up by the rescue mission, so that should help make some space in the garage. We need to make room for dh's car in the garage before the first snowfall! So, I'm motivated to clear out and get rid of stuff.

Nuisance, if you can sell some of your stuff it will pay for your pedicure!

That was my thought exactly! I can Ebay enough to pay for the pedicure but I think I'll just Freecycle most of it so it's gone quickly. I'll keep coming back to this thread to record my progress. Thanks for joining me!

I am getting ready to purge the house also.. I am starting to line it up on the carport. First I will freecycle and then I am going to rent the big dumpster....yea, yea, yea.. I just gotta keep the faith and once it is out it stays out...

I'm in... think I'll set aside 30 min. a day to work on it.... Not sure I can get 1000 things since I did a big purge in Aug. but I'm excited to get more 'stuff' out.

I don't have that much, I don't think. We live in a one-bedroom apartment. I think I'll try for 500!

I've got 2 storage units to purge once the temps drop a little. My goal is to empty them out completely and either sell, repurpose, or donate EVERYTHING in them.

Not sure of what number of items that would be, though.

~Ok! Today I purged 1 thing on Ebay, 12 things on Freecycle and 27 things to Goodwill. That's 40 things today. It's a start, I guess! 60 more things and I can have one toe done, lol!~

The refrigerator gets picked up tomorrow morning and then I can better MOVE around in my garage to really see what's there! LOL!

I'm in on this one as well. Not sure I can hit 1000 though because DH is a clinging, collecting, packrat and for the most part I'm too chicken to just pitch his stuff. When I ask though .... it's always "no" so I'll have to gain a little courage and deal with some confrontation when it comes to his stuff. that being the case I'll start with 500 and if that goes quickly I'll add some more.

I hope you don't mind if I join. This is just what I need to get motivated. 1000 items for me also. I love the ideal that you set a deadline.
One quick question, does papers count? I have a whole file cabinet I need to purge.
